Wow! I am kinda a state of shock...2nd quarter is done....wow! Time is winding down already, it really doesn't seem possible to be moving into 3rd quarter already. This is a critical learning time for our kiddos. We are diving more into reading and writing. With that being said it is so important that we continue to practice writing and reading those tricky words. You have done such a great job, lets keep it up!
In math we are still working on recognizing our numbers. Numbers are hard...that is the best way I can say it. At home it would be good for you to practice showing them different numbers and maybe even practice writing them. I also wanted to check in on writing homework...how is it going... the kiddos seem to really enjoy it. Please let me know if you have any questions and keep up the great work!
We have just finished up all of our assessments for report cards that will be coming home on Tuesday or Wednesday of this week. I want to tell you how proud of your kiddos I am! They have worked so hard these first 90 days of school and it is showing. As a teacher it is so amazing to see how they grow and the progression. We truly have a very hard working bunch of kiddos on our hands and I am so proud of each and everyone of them! However, a lot of the credit does need to go to you all...you are the ones enforcing what we are working on at school and it is hard work. When they come home to you, they are tired and you are tired and school is the last thing we all want to do....but you all do! I thank you for that as we are seeing the growth each and every day. Kindergarten is defiantly marathon...lets all keep going strong together.
The kids were soooo excited that we now have two new "class pets" if you will...we got Fish!!! For science we will be observing our fish and documenting it in our journal. We as a classed named the fish, our orange goldfish is named Cindy and our black fish is named Jack. It was so fun having our kids pick out the names. I was certain we would have more "fish" names..but no they wanted "real" boy and girl names. Lets just say it is safe to say that they LOVE them!
We have also had great fun with Ms. Pam talking about different animals in the winter and their tracks. We even had a virtual field trip in our room learning about the different winter animals. So much fun to watch them get so excited.
