Getting Ready for Grandparents and Special Friends!

Hey Everyone! 

 I just wanted to drop a quick note about Grandparents Day on Friday the 28th! Most have returned the form of Grandparents or Special Friends that are coming, but if you have not please send me a note and let me know so I can put them down. I also need permission from you if you would like your child to leave with grandparents or special friends, so if you have not contacted me please do so! 

If you have a grandparents or special friends that would be coming with multiple kiddos to visit, please encourage them to do the classroom activities and not singing. As these are done and separate times, we want to make sure both upper and lower kiddos are getting time with their grandparents or special friends! 

We will have a schedule for all to follow and we will have people here to help as well if there are any questions. PLEASE PLEASE let me know if you have any question before the day comes! The kids are so proud of this day and I love that I get to be apart of this special bonding time. :-)

Grandparents Day Schedule

Hoping Around!

We have had a busy couple of weeks in kindergarten!! In reading we have been really working hard in our small groups with reading strategies and also writing our tricky words. I feel like this has really helped the kiddos to make a connection with the words, instead of just knowing it to know it :-)

In math we ave been working on addition and subtraction!! Wow they are working so hard at it. In science we have been doing a lot of experiments with wood and how it handles in water, with weights, and sanding. The kids are having a ball with it.

We finally got around to our random act of kindness...this was a project we did for Mrs. Foster. It turned out great and the kids love helping with it! We had such a great turn out for out KE color run, thank you to all who had a part in it, the kids LOVED IT!  Tom Pease came to our school for a "in school field trip" that the first grade shared with us. The kids loved his songs and interactive concert experience.

We also did a lot of fun Easter activities this past week. We even had a visitor...the kids love finding all of his surprises!
Things are getting extra busy here in Kindergarten as we wrap things up....after today.....we only have 5 MONDAYS LEFT!!!! This can't be possible! Have a great week!
