I am sorry I did not post the last two weeks. We have been really busy working in our reading groups and learning tricky words. I believe we are right around 35! Wow...that is a lot, along with still learning writing patterns and reading patterns. The kids have been working extra hard during small group reading. I am so proud of all of their willingness to keep trying different things even if it can be challenging. We have a great bunch, I am lucky to have them! Please keep up your hard work at home if you are looking for something different to try with tricky words...try and have a "quiz" the kiddos may like trying to show you how fast they can write without looking! :-)
Math we are working on grater than and less than, and we are doing some reviews with shapes! Shapes are so tricky when we through the idea of 3D ones in there! Slowly but surely we will keep working on these!
We just recently finished up our State Testing of the "FAST". I sent a hard paper copy of your child's scores last week. If you have any comments or questions please contact me, we will be sure to touch on this at conferences as well. That paperwork came home last week too, looking forward to showing and sharing with you all the progress our kiddos have made! :-) Always makes me smile! I plan to also have a new reading level to share with you at conferences as well, to see where we are at this point in the year....it is closing so fast!
Valentines was so fun for the kiddos. They love to share with their friends in excitement while passing out Valentines and looking at each others boxes. I know that this task can be very time consuming, but I promise your kids LOVE every second of it. So I want to thank you for the hard work and extra time you all took. It was so fun to see them helping each other pass things out and just be happy kiddos. :-)
During our PBIS weekly assembly we as a staff have started to nominate students who are being Respectful, Responsible, and Safe throughout our school day. Any student can be nominated by any staff member. It is a great way for you as parents to be involved, and honor our amazing kiddos! Attached are a few pictures from our last two assemblies.
I know I seem to say this a lot, but I really do thank you for all you do to help make our kiddos as successful as we can! It takes a village! :-) Have a great weekend!
***REMINDER****
We DO NOT have school Friday the 17th and Monday the 20th! See you all on Tuesday the 21st!Kara
